UPDATE: 2024 Ford Ranger Bed Reinforcement Requirements Published: 2025-03-20 / Documents
Ford > Ranger RealTruck | A.R.E. has learned that Ford has implemented a running change to the 2024 Ranger that will add underbody reinforcement brackets to the structure of the truck bed. This change eliminates the need for the Load Box Reinforcement Brackets (J-Braces) required with all RealTruck | A.R.E. truck caps. Install kit PN 25845 is still required for ALL 2024 Ford Ranger truck caps to be installed prior to mounting a RealTruck | A.R.E. truck cap.
This running change from Ford is effective as of October, 2024. Because Ford lists manufacture dates by Month/Year, you will need to see a manufacture date beginning 10/24 to identify trucks that will already have these Load Box Reinforcement Brackets (J-Braces) installed from the factory. This date can be found on the door jamb label located on the driver's side front or rear door panel.
If the customer’s truck has a build date before 10/24, the customer is still required to have the Load Box Reinforcement Brackets installed by an authorized Ford dealer before a RealTruck | A.R.E. truck cap can be installed. If the customer’s truck has a build date on or after 10/24, a RealTruck | A.R.E. truck cap can be installed without the additional step of adding the Load Box Reinforcement Brackets because they will already be present from the Ford factory.
Regardless of the build date, ALL 2024 Ford Ranger truck caps will continue to require the installation of A.R.E. install kit PN 25845 prior to mounting a RealTruck | A.R.E. truck cap to prevent possible vehicle damage.
